101.5 Casey and Rossi now talking or annihilating Point Pleasant for the Resolution condemning MTV show "The Jersey Shore"
After condemning a tv show can book burning be far behind?
First conquer Point Pleasant then the World.
Isn't it true three of the four participants are from Staten Island? How does that reflect on New Jersey natives?
Everyone who lives here knows exactly what Seaside is called in the summer.

Well, let's see what the total bill is for the borough attorney on this waste of time. Does the council intend to stand up for the American Indians, the true first inhabitants of this state, and condemn Columbus Day as an insult to them? How about the Irish or the Polish or for that matter any other group that has been shown in a negative manner on tv, film or print. Another attempt at vote getting, empire building, at the expense of the tax payer.How about condemning a council candidate for publishing his arrest record on the campaign web site to get votes? Didn't the accused have civil rights that were violated since they were exploited for personal gain? One arrested is not always guilty or found guilty of the charge. How about standing up for their rights as citizens. Just because the info was removed does not mean that it was not saved by someone.What about the right to conduct business in town without personal attack. DQ guy is the only one in town attacked for a bench, while across the street from his business, tables and chairs are on the sidewalk of those business. What about the bench outside of the scone store? Selective enforcement? The real business at hand is being lost in the 2010 campaign already. Wonder of the borough attorney could donate his fee charged for this waste of time back to the town to be used for legitimate town business.

Seems like someone on this council likes to "borrow" ideas from others...

I agree that this is condemnation of a TV show by a municipal entiey is stupid and ill advised.
Who do these Italian American Organizations think they are and who gave them the authority to be the voice of all Italian Americans?
Here's a case in point;
Back in the late 1990s, a group that presumed to speak for all Hispanics lobbied to have "SPEEDY GONZALEZ' banned from the cartoon network.
(the following text is from the Wikipedia entry on the subject - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Speedy_Gonzales )
In 1999, Cartoon Network ceased to air Speedy Gonzales. Some considered the cartoon's depiction of Mexicans to be racist. In an interview, Cartoon Network spokeswoman, Laurie Goldberg commented, "It hasn't been on the air for years because of its ethnic stereotypes". This is widely believed to refer to Speedy's fellow mice, who are all very slow, lazy, and sometimes even appear intoxicated. This is particularly true of Speedy's cousin, Slowpoke Rodriguez, who is exceptionally slow and lazy.
This criticism prompted Cartoon Network to largely shelve Speedy's films when it gained exclusive rights to broadcast them in 1999. However, fan campaigns to put Speedy back on the air and lobbying by The League of United Latin American Citizens saw the shorts return to air from 2002.[2] Despite the controversy in the USA, Speedy Gonzales remains a very popular character in Latin America. In Mexico, the Speedy Gonzales show has been on and off part of the regular programing of Televisa's Canal 5 national channel ever since it was created. In 2010, a Looney Toons New Year's Day marathon on Cartoon Network showed the episode "Mexican Boarders" having both Speedy and Slowpoke.
BOTTOM LINE HERE :
beware of those who presume to speak for others :
As for the Pt.Pleasant council voting to "CONDEMN" anything , that brings to mind another stereotype - that of the German Brownshirts of the 1930s.
